If you have concerns regarding a mole or lesion on your face or body, you should have this checked.

Did you know?

Skin cancer is the most common cancer overall in the UK?

Malignant Melanoma has increased by 400% over the last 35 years and is now the second most common cancer in people between the ages of 20 to 40 years.

90% of all skin cancers are caused by over-exposure to UV radiation from the sun and/or sunbeds – that means the majority of all skin cancers are preventable by undertaking simple sun safety measures.

What to expect at your appointment

Sussex Skin and Laser Clinic are working in partnership with ScreenCancer UK.

Individuals now have access to an affordable, innovative mole/pigmented lesion scanning service.

The process is simple and quick. In a consultation you will be asked a few questions about your previous exposure to UVA/UVB and general skin health.

The mole/ lesion is then imaged with our non-invasive camera,  It is totally painless and harmless and takes a few minutes to complete. This allows a dermatology specialist to look at the surround skin and at a very high quality close-up image.

The images are sent to a dermatology specialist who analyses the images remotely, along with supporting information.

If the mole/lesion is normal the client will receive their results via text message/post.

If there are any concerns with the Mole or Lesion e.g. monitoring or onward referral is required a Nurse/Healthcare advisor will call you to explain the results and the next steps to take.

CONSULTATION and 1 Lesion £55

Each additional lesion during the same appointment £25

Results are analysed by dermatology specialists and returned directly to you within 2 weeks.

Mole Screening appointments are available on Mondays in Clinic, Mobile visits can be arranged for Care Homes or Larger Clinics
